FAST FIVE director Justin Lin On Resurrecting Sarah Connor In TERMINATOR 5!

As we all know, director Justin Lin was eager to do TERMINATOR 5 sometimes in the future. Except that the fact it isn't quite ready yet with all the breakout scandal his main star Arnold Schwarzenegger has been dealing right now (though Schwarzenegger is currently back on track into his acting comeback with Kim Ji-Woon's LAST STAND).

Now according to an exclusive interview with Lin via Moviehole, the director gives an update about the status of TERMINATOR 5. He has stated that the proposed fifth installment is currently without a script and the franchise is going through "a change in ownership". Still, of all his statements, the best of the lot is the one where he wants to resurrect the franchise's iconic character -- Sarah Connor, which was played by Linda Hamilton in 1984's THE TERMINATOR and 1991's TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY. Here's the excerpt from the interview below:

And there’s going to be a way to resurrect Sarah Connor. I’m missing Sarah Connor.

Justin Lin: I mean, Sarah Connor is such a big part of the franchise, you know. Yeah, I mean I’ve always been surprised how in part 3 she was just like… It was like one line and she was gone.

She was dead, yeah, yeah. It was insulting, yeah.

Justin Lin: Yeah, like leukemia and… But I think the great thing about this franchise is you have… You can actually have different canons because you have the element of time travel. So, there’s a way of kind of respecting all the works but also able to create a new time line.

So there you have it. At least Justin Lin is going to the right direction for making the fanboys happy. Let's hope there's more good news about the progress of TERMINATOR 5 in the future.
