This shouldn't be surprising at all, since TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON has currently taken in over $400 million worldwide since opening last Wednesday. While director Michael Bay and star Shia LaBeouf have declared that TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON will be their final movie in the series, many insiders have speculated that executive producer Steven Spielberg might take over the directing duty with Jason Statham being a strong candidate to lead the role.
Now producer Don Murphy had something else in his mind, regarding about the future of TRANSFORMERS series. He also indicated that they will start a new trilogy with the same robots. Check out his comment below.
"What happens next? Certainly not a reboot. We haven't lost the Transformers. They didn't grow up or become expensive like Tobey Maguire. I don't know what happens next. I'm pretty sure there will be a second trilogy. I am pretty sure it will kick ass. And I am pretty sure some of you will hate it because it wasn't all bots."
