Is CONTAGION Screenwriter Scott Z. Burns Enlisted To Pen The New BLADE RUNNER?

Okay, so Ridley Scott has confirmed he'll be directing the new BLADE RUNNER movie. So far, so good. And then came another good news --- according to Twitch, screenwriter Scott Z. Burns (CONTAGION, THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM) has emerged as top choice to write the new BLADE RUNNER movie! Ridley Scott and the rest of the relevant parties involved in the upcoming project are now currently discussed with Burns to make it happen.

No doubt that enlisting Burns is an interesting choice. Hopefully he can captures the nostalgic essence of what screenwriter David Webb Peoples has done so well in the original BLADE RUNNER, while pushing the envelope at the same time.

"Hi Ho Silver, Away!"... LONE RANGER May Lasso Into Production In Early 2012!

Optimism continues to favor over the much-troubled production for the highly-anticipated LONE RANGER movie after being sidelined for budgetary reasons. After last week's decision that Walt Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer were all close to finalize their budgetary issues, it seems that the studio might expect to start production on the movie either January or February 2012.

As for the cast, nothing is changed with Johnny Depp takes on the role of Tonto and Armie Hammer will play the title character. Ruth WIlson is set to play the female lead, Rebecca.

LONE RANGER is expected to hit theaters on December 21, 2012.

POINT BREAK Remake Eyed Cam Gigandet And Daniel Henney!

According to Tracking Board, two names have been attached to Warner Bros.' upcoming POINT BREAK remake. They are Cam Gigandet (PRIEST) and Daniel Henney (X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE)!

No words on which Gigandet and Henney will play in their main roles, but I guess it's obvious that Gigandet will filled in the late Patrick Swayze's shoes as the extreme sports-loving, criminal mastermind Bodhi while Henney will take on Keanu Reeves' role as the rookie FBI agent Johnny Utah.

Remember Michelle Rodriguez, who played Rain Ocampo in 2002's RESIDENT EVIL? Now the actress is expected to make a return in the upcoming RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION, which is currently in production. The zombie sequel is expected to hit theaters on September 14, 2012.

Kevin Feige Reveals THOR 2 Will Goes To Other Worlds!

Okay, first, Marvel Studios may pick MONSTER director Patty Jenkins to helm THOR 2. Now new details have emerged that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed about the plot for THOR 2. Here's what he had to say below.

(The sequel will) take Thor literally to other worlds. (Thor 2 will) primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and how the new dynamic with his father (Odin, played by Anthony Hopkins) is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds.

Now that's I'm talking about!

CAPTAIN AMERICA 2? Chris Evans Says Expect The Sequel To Hit 2014!

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER may not be a box-office mammoth but its total gross of $173 million is respectable enough to warrant the first movie as success. So naturally, a sequel is expected but lead actor Chris Evans who plays the title character had recently stated that fans might have to wait longer to watch CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 in theaters. Here's what he had to say below.

They may wait until 2014 until they release the next Cap. Marvel has a lot of balls in the air, they aren't going to cannibalize their films.

Wow... 2014? That is a long wait for a sequel.

MASS EFFECT Movie Will Not Follow The Game Story. Uh, What's Going On Here?

When comes to adapting someone else's work, be it novel, comic or video game, it's always best to stay faithful to the source material in order to satisfy the fanbase. But in the case of a highly-popular video game adaptation MASS EFFECT, it's different story altogether. Apparently during Comic-Con 2011 where Legendary Pictures held their first panel, they were discussed upcoming projects. Other than PACIFIC RIM, another one is of course MASS EFFECT. And guess what... Legendary Pictures has revealed that the MASS EFFECT movie will not follow the game story line! Check out the Q&A session below.

Will it just be an adaptation of the first game, second game, or a completely new story?

It will be a completely new story

How are you going to address the element of 'choice' that the players have in the game?

A movie narrative is different than gameplay. There won't be a choice aspect to this film, just a normal film narrative.

Will it be a trilogy?

We are really focused on making this a great movie, so we'll see where it takes us. We have to get the first one right to know whether there will be more.

Will Seth Green portray Joker (that character he voiced in the game?)

No.

Will the movie be focused on Shepard?

Yes.

If the movie is focused on Shepard, will it be the male Shepard or the female Shepard?

Male.

Can you give any hints to potential casting?

Will BioWare allow plot/character changes?

Yes, we are working closely with BioWare on the development of this project.

We love Daft Punk, but it's too early to say who will produce the soundtrack.

MONSTER Director Patty Jenkins Might Direct THOR 2!

After original director Kenneth Branagh unexpectedly left THOR 2, Marvel Studios has been actively looking for possible replacement. And I'm sure fans will be surprised to hear that the studio might go with their odd choice of picking MONSTER director Patty Jenkins to helm the sequel!

MONSTER, is of course, the 2003's critically-acclaimed drama which famously earned Charlize Theron the much-deserved Best Actress Oscar.

The studio has set THOR 2 to be released on July 26, 2013. Chris Hemsworth will be returned as Thor, while THOR co-writer Don Payne is writing the script.

Jackie Chan's 1911 Deleted Intimate Love Scene Photo Revealed!

Jackie Chan's upcoming epic war drama 1911 is said to be contained plenty of intimate love scenes between Jackie Chan and Li Bingbing, both who played revolutionary couple Huang Xing and Xu Zonghan. The passionate love scene ended up being trimmed off for theatrical release (perhaps we might get to watch the full uncut version when the movie hit DVD and Blu-ray release?), but a photo is somehow popped up online where you can see below.

Could These Vehicles Belong To MAD MAX: FURY ROAD?

The long-delayed MAD MAX reboot entitled MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, which will see the return of the original director George Miller, is supposed to begin shooting in August 2010 but unexpectedly pushed back to February 2011. Then the shooting is forced to stall eleven months to January 2012 when torrential rains has flooded the Australian desert. Okay, that begs the question: When are we going to see the new Mad Max character, played by Tom Hardy in this new version?

Anyway, here are the possible set photos of a couple vehicles used in the upcoming movie where you can see them below. By the look of the vehicles, they sure fits the bill as the kind used in a MAD MAX movie.

Director Jose Padilha Talks ROBOCOP Remake!

When MGM announced the public that a remake of ROBOCOP is greenlighted, I was pretty skeptical at first. I mean, a Robocop who wears heavy armored suit and armed himself a pistol is soooo yesterday by today's standard. However, director Jose Padilha, who has signed on to direct the remake after original director Darren Aronofsky bowed out, thinks it's the right time to remake ROBOCOP. Here's what he had to say below.

I love the sharpness and political tone of RoboCop, and I think that such a film is now urgently needed. But I will not repeat what Verhoeven has done so clearly and strongly. Instead I try to make a film that will address topics that Verhoeven untreated. If you are a man changes into a robot, how do you do that? What is the difference between humans and robots developed? What is free will? What does it mean to lose your free will? Those are the issues that I think.

Hmm... that is an interesting question Padilha had in mind for now. Here's hoping that he is able to make his own gritty version of a new ROBOCOP movie in the coming future.

Ron Perlman Talks HELLBOY 3!

Despite the fact that HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY (2008) arrived with a huge fanfare, the highly-anticipated blockbuster sequel failed to ignite the box-office sparks. What's even more disappointing that Guillermo del Toro, who directed two previous HELLBOY movies, will not be back to direct the long-gestating HELLBOY 3. However, lead actor Ron Perlman who plays the title character, remains optimistic for the third movie. Here's what he had to say below.

It's good to hear that Ron Perlman is still interested to do another HELLBOY movie for the third go-round. Guillermo del Toro, sign the dotted line already!

New SCARFACE Movie Is In The Works!

Remember the intense scene when Tony Montana (Al Pacino) went all berserk, shouting "You wanna f**k with me? Okay. You wanna play rough? Okay. Say hello to my little friend! " before he starts shooting at his enemies? Well, that Brian De Palma's gangster classic SCARFACE (1983) is about to get a new facelift by Universal Pictures!.

According to the studio, the new SCARFACE is not going to be a remake or a sequel. Martin Bregman, who produced the 1983 version, and Marc Shmuger boarded the upcoming project as producers.

The studio is currently searching for writers to pen the screenplay which will include the gangster elements found in the original 1932 SCARFACE and the 1983 version as well.

As of now, no other details has been revealed.

One Bloody Mean THE GREY Trailer!

Take a look at the first trailer for director Joe Carnahan's intense thriller THE GREY below, which stars Liam Neeson, Dallas Roberts, James Badge Dale, Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo, Nonso Anozie and Joe Anderson. They play a group of plane crash survivors trying to fend off a pack of wild wolves in the Alaska tundra.

THE GREY hit theaters somewhere in 2012.
