With Warner Bros. already ready to start shooting its highly-anticipated "Superman" reboot MAN OF STEEL sometimes later this year, you will expect everything are running smooth. But apparently the production has brought in a new screenwriter to re-write the existing script, previously drafted by David S. Goyer. The new screenwriter happens to be Kurt Johnstad, who previously collaborated with Zack Snyder in 300.
Goyer is supposed to rewrite the script, but he is currently busy writing the GODZILLA reboot for Legendary Pictures. Anyway, here's what an insider had to say about bringing Johnstad aboard for MAN OF STEEL.
"Now that Goyer's is off The Man of Steel and on to Godzilla, (director Zack) Snyder got Kurt Johnstad (whose his regular, go-to writer, including 300, that The Last Photograph project that (Christian) Bale's attached to now originating from Snyder's noggin and that 300 spin-off) to take over for rewrites. Jonathan Nolan took a pass on it too."
MAN OF STEEL is expected to hit theaters in late 2012. The movie is directed by Zack Snyder, and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Harry Lennix, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane.
