With Or Without Bill Murray, GHOSTBUSTERS 3 Is A Go!

The much-troubled GHOSTBUSTERS 3 is certainly one of the most long-gestating projects ever had in the history of Hollywood cinema.

Back in March, director Ivan Reitman might direct GHOSTBUSTERS 3 if Bill Murray signs off on the script. But until now, there's no news whether Murray will sign for the third installment or not.

Then co-star Dan Aykroyd, who recently appeared on Dennis Miller's radio program, has something to say regarding about the project. Check it out below.

"Yes, we will be doing the movie, and hopefully with Mr. Murray. That is our hope. We have an excellent script, but what we have to remember is that Ghostbusters is bigger than any one component. Although Billy was the lead and contributed to it in a massive way, along with myself, Harold (Ramis) and the director and Sigourney (Weaver), the concept is bigger than any one individual role."

Additionally, the actor also reveals a bit about the storyline of GHOSTBUSTERS 3 including the confirmation of a younger crop of Ghostbusters as well.

"The promise of Ghostbusters 3 is that we get to hand the equipment and the franchise down to new blood. My character, Ray, is now blind in one eye and can't drive the Cadillac. He's got a bad knee and can't carry the packs. Egon is too large to get into the harness. We need young blood and that's the promise. We're gonna hand it to a new generation. We want to go into production in the spring, I hope."

Lastly, Aykroyd does have one young actor in mind to join the new cast members for GHOSTBUSTERS 3.

"I like this Matthew Gray Gubler from the Criminal Minds show, but we'll be casting. We'll see everyone who wants to do it. It will be three guys and a young woman."
