Popular Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu-Wai is set to play the young Lee Kuan Yew in an upcoming biopic drama called 1965.
Other stars like Maggie Cheung and Julianne Moore are also tapped to star in the movie, which will be directed by Peter Chan (WU XIA).
1965 is a joint collaboration between Singapore's Jiale Movies and Peter Chan. The story will be centered on Singapore's Independence in 1965.
Filming is expected to roll in the fourth quarter of 2011, and will take place in Singapore and Malaysia.
