Eh... Laurence Fishburne As Perry White For Zack Snyder's MAN OF STEEL?

Yup, you read that title above correctly. According to EW, Laurence Fishburne has been cast as Perry White, the editor-in-chief of Metropolis's prominent newspaper called The Daily Planet. It's kind of hard to swallow the fact that Fishburne is picked as Perry White since the character is a white people. I mean, take a look at the past actors who play this iconic character: the late Jackie Cooper in the four Christopher Reeves-era SUPERMAN movies (1978 - 1987), and Frank Langella in Bryan Singer's underappreciated SUPERMAN RETURNS in 2006.

Well, that finally explained the fact why Laurence Fishburne walked out from TV's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation recently in May after appearing as the lead role for several seasons.

But despite the odd choice of casting Fishburne as Perry White in MAN OF STEEL, I'm sure he can brings some edges to the role. After all, he's no stranger on playing a commanding role with authoritative voice.

MAN OF STEEL flies to theaters on June 14, 2013.
