Earlier, we know that director J.J. Abrams has confirmed that STAR TREK sequel will be his next project after releasing SUPER 8, which is currently showing in theaters everywhere. However, Paramount has recently announced that the STAR TREK sequel is no longer targeted on June 29, 2012 release date as previously stated.
The cause of delay is clearly understandable, especially his work on SUPER 8 has subsequently keeping him occupied the whole time. Still, rest assured that all the key cast from the original movie will return for the sequel. Here's what Abrams had to say to CNN regarding about the delay.
“We’re working on the script and story and doing everything we can to make it well. I would just so much rather make a movie that’s worth people’s time than make a movie that’s on time.”
Well, personally I think a little delay is better than rush everything into production for the sake to meet the deadline. Now we wouldn't want to disappoint those Trekkies out there, would we?
