Mention the name "Roland Emmerich", the first thing quickly comes to mind that he's the one associated to end-of-the-world movie extravaganza. Movies like STARGATE, INDEPENDENCE DAY, GODZILLA and 2012.
But his new movie, ANONYMOUS is a radical departure of sorts we normally expected from him. Instead of the usual genre, ANONYMOUS is a period drama/thriller involving a speculative issue about the truth of William Shakespeare's work of literature.
Hmm... sounds interesting. With classy cast of Rhys Ifans, Vanessa Redgrave, Joely Richardson and David Thewlis, ANONYMOUS is an intriguing picture to look out for. In the meantime, check out the trailer below:
The movie will be unravel this coming September 2011, but local release is unknown at the time being.
