Stunt Coordinators Wants To Be Recognized In Academy Awards

Now this should be done a long time ago. I mean, those stunt coordinators have been risking their life to achieve the best action set-piece they can in the movie they are involved. So yes, they are truly deserved to be considered for a new Oscar slot for Best Stunt.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a group of stunt coordinators plan to seek the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Board of Governors (AMPAS) recently for their own category at the prestigious annual awards. As a matter of fact, a veteran stunt coordinator named Jack Gill (FAST FIVE) has been petitioning AMPAS for two decades already, and yet nobody really cares. Here's what Gill had to say about the issue.

"I’m baffled as to what it is that we’re lacking (in the Academy’s eyes)."

So what do you think guys? Should the Academy granted their wishes for Best Stunt category in the future?
