JURASSIC PARK 4 Is Still Alive?

Looks like the JURASSIC PARK franchise refused to die after all. After Joe Johnston-directed JURASSIC PARK III come and go in the summer of 2001, there have been endless speculations that the fourth installment is in the works. But three years ago, producer Kathleen Kennedy has nixed the idea for further sequel especially after the original author Michael Crichton who wrote the book in the first place, has passed away. Not only that, Sam Neill also felt pessimistic about going for the possible fourth installment when he cited the death of veteran creature designer Stan Winston alongside Crichton in a recent interview with the MTV, "I think we've told the story. I think it's done."

However, director Steven Spielberg who helmed the first two installments of the mega-successful franchise, is reportedly brainstorming with writer Mark Protosevich (THOR) on how to reboot the franchise. Still at this point, reps for the studio and Spielberg has particularly stressed that discussions are "purely exploratory."

Rebooting JURASSIC PARK franchise? Seriously, do we really need another get-go of a big-budget blockbuster featuring a lot of dinosaurs?
