Keanu Reeves Zeroing In To Star AKIRA

Warner Bros. may have greenlight their much-anticipated, live-action take of the landmark Japanese anime, AKIRA with Albert Hughes attached as the director, but they are still having tough time finding two leads for the movie.

According to the script, the action moves from Neon-Tokyo to New Manhattan, where a biker gang leader tries to save his best friend from a medical experiment that threatens to unleash destructive powers.

Actors ranging from James Franco and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Robert Pattinson and Michael Fassbender, have been enlisted to head the cast so far. And now it looks like Keanu Reeves is in talks with the studio to play the role of the gang leader named Kaneda. According to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision, the talks with his representatives have been going on smoothly, although Reeves doesn't yet have an offer for the role.

So Keanu Reeves to headline the movie as Kaneda? Hmm...
