In conjunction for the upcoming release of the highly-anticipated Zack Snyder's visionary epic SUCKER PUNCH next week on March 24, 2011, the director has hired Ben Hibon to create an animation short called THE TRENCHES after seeing the Swiss animator's moody shadow-puppet sequence in HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART 1 (2010).
In a statement, Snyder declared: "It made sense to push the visual style in a different direction. Ben’s aesthetic felt like a perfect fit."
In this animation short, the 3-minute short video is depicted in a motion comic style and the story is centered on an tormented World War I soldier who gets a hideous new lease on life after he goes down in a blaze of chaotic glory.
