Emperor Motion Pictures has recently announced five-movie line-up for 2011. Among them are THE GREAT MAGICIAN, a period action genre that will reunite actor Tony Leung Chiu-Wai and Hong Kong director Derek Yee for the third time (after 1986's THE LUNATICS and 1987's PEOPLE'S HERO). The movie is reportedly cost at $15 million to make, and Leung will play "a master illusionist in the 1900s who gets the girl and saves his country with his magic tricks".
Another movie on the pipeline is Dante Lam's THE VIRAL FACTOR, a $17 million thriller "about a super virus takes place around the world". The movie will feature Jay Chou, Nicholas Tse and Andy On. Shooting plans will be in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Jordan.
No release dates are set for either of these titles.
