Ryan Reynolds Insists GREEN LANTERN "isn't a comedy"

After the revelation of the four-minute GREEN LANTERN footage at the WonderCon, many people has been skeptical about the upcoming superhero adventure.

The movie's lead actor, Ryan Reynolds, is of course aware about the situation and has spoken out in defense of the comic adaptation's tone.

"They were worried about it," Reynolds tells the Los Angeles Times (via TotalFilm). "Fanboys are known to have a very loud voice. They're known to beat their chest hard when they like or dislike something, and that's all part of the game."

He also add more explanations to ease off potentially worried fanboys:

I know, because I was an integral part of the shooting process, that the movie is not a comedy at all. The levity is really kind of more in a Han Solo kind of vein than anything broader.

Let's hope he's right about that "no comedy" part, but we can only wait and see when GREEN LANTERN opens on June 17, 2011.
