After months of speculation of who's going to play the villain in the upcoming Zack Snyder's SUPERMAN next year, Warner Bros. announced Sunday that REVOLUTIONARY ROAD actor Michael Shannon has finally been chosen to play General Zod (the role who is previously essayed by Terence Stamp in 1980's SUPERMAN II).
Here is what Snyder have to say about his pick on Michael Shannon for the General Zod role:
"Zod is not only one of Superman's most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don't. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role."
