Following from the departure of Justin Lin for Summit's highly-anticipated reboot of HIGHLANDER, the studio puts Spanish director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, best known for his zombie sequel in 28 WEEKS LATER (2007), as the frontrunner to helm the project.
As of now, no cast is attached yet. Other than Fresnadillo currently in discussion for the director's post, Neal Moritz and Peter Davis will be producing the reboot. Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are writing the screenplay with a polish from Melissa Rosenberg (THE TWILIGHT SAGA).
